ImageSadly, this really is a two man race, and due to Notre Dame's greediness and unwillingness to have their football team follow suit of every other team on campus and join the Big East, it will be that way until some other team finds a way to step up. I do have one positive thing to say about the Big East, besides the obvious talent at Louisville, and the benefit of schedule that West Virginia is receiving, and that is USF.

They were 6-6 last season, but in their first year in the Big East conference, and not to mention their first year in Division IA football, I believe a bowl game loss is far ahead of schedule for this very young and very talented team. Remember, that Louisville lost three times last season, that instant classic against WV, their bowl game against VaTech, and a blow out 45-14 loss at South Florida. All the experts do have this as a two team race to the finish, but if USF can somehow beat both UL and WV in their last two road games of the season, they could go undefeated, take the BCS bowl bid for the Big East, and announce to the world, even more so then last year, that the Big East will be a force to be reckoned with in years to come.
