Let the healing begin. I apologize to FAMU, and its fans, but this is really just a rebound game for UM. If this is a close one, don't wait for the end of the year to see Larry Coker get fired, it could happen before next weeks match-up against Louisville. Thankfully I don't see how that could be possible. The only thing to look for is a running game.
It was nonexistant in the FSU game, on both sides, although UM did manage twice as many yards rushing, with 2 net yards. FAMU looks to be a softer rush defense then FSU, allowing the might Delaware State Hornets to rush for 216. Confidence is what this game is about. The defense looked brilliant, the real question is will Miami's offense be able to regain it's confidence. Hopefully Kyle Wright and the offense can shrug off the pressure of being viewed by an average audience of 6.33 million (TV rating of 6.9 with ESPN Full Circle, again making the UM-FSU game the highest rated, which last year was never broken, not even the championship game).
There should be no worries about pressure against FAMU, as the only highlight will be their band at halftime. One small side note, if you've never seen the FAMU band, I highly recommend attending one of their games and requesting vehemently an encore post game. When I went to this game a few years back, our band spelled out USA in cursive, and sounding us, forming the outline of these United States, FAMU's band looked so majestic.
Back to football though, look for Miami to run, I mean a lot, to the point of sickness. With only 1 yard on 26 attempts, I'm sure the O-Line's ears are hurting by now, and they'll probably never want to hear it again. Kyle Wright will get 250-300 yards, but they will be in stride, with minimal attempts, mostly 15-20 yard receptions, no short dumps or screens.
My final prediction: Miami-50 FAMU-7
