 A good start on that comeback. There's nothing the Hurricanes can do now but continue to win. As I expected, the ball was run add naseum. After 2 yards on 26 attempts you had to expect the coaches to focus on the run a bit, and with 339 yards on 47 attempts, you can see the message hit home. This is a great thing, as FSU still seems unable to shake off their 1 yard on 25 attempts, garnering only 45 on 28 attempts against the Trojans of Troy (not to be mistaken with the other Trojans who reside in Southern California).
We also saw a much more comfortable and confident Kyle Wright, who completed 13-18 passes for 166 yards in less then 2 quarters of work (he did play in one drive in the third, but was not on the field for the last drive, and only turnover, of the second). The rushing game saw incredible balance with three players averaging more then 8 yards a game, and four had 60 or more yards. In his return from a season ending knee surgery, Tyrone looked as if he hadn't missed a step racking up 64 yards on only 8 attempts. With Javarris, Derron, and Charlie, the Hurricanes now have 4 backs who could easily pick up 100 yards a game, and Miami is once again deep at that position.
The defense was still on it's game, giving up only 10 points (for an of 11.5 this season), and allowing 225 yards bringing their season average up to 200 a game. The lone touchdown came with 7:38 remaining in the third, long after the first string had gotten comfortable on the bench.
All in all, no big surprises, but the 51 points and 563 yards should give the offense some sense of respectability coming into the game against Louisville, who is averaging a ridiculous 60.2 points per game, albeit against Kentucky and Temple. And finally, here is your box score:
