ImageAs anemic and embarrasing Miami's offense has been, UNC, numbers wise, is twice as bad as Miami, but somehow they've managed 19.5 points per game, only 1/2 a point less then Miami's 20 per game. I've touched briefly on this matter previously, but since there is little question as to who is going to win, at least in most people’s minds, I'll take the opportunity, using UNC as a portrait of comparison, to further prove my point. This is all a numbers game of course, but that's pretty much what football is about, who has the biggest number at the end of the game. Although Miami's overall offensive statistics won't turn any heads, when compared to UNC's one would think the PPG differential would be more then just a scant half a point. In almost every statistic but passing yards, their rank is almost double that of our rank, which is around the mid to late 40's in the nation. When compared to the rank of PPG, 87th, none of it adds up at all. It's so frustrating to see your team putting up decent numbers and only coming away with an average of 20 points, and even that number is bloated. If you scrap the 51 we got against FAMU, not a Division IA team, our average is even more embarrassing, 10 1/3 points per game, which would put us at 113th place, just above Colorado.

This is Miami, there is no excuse, even the struggle of learning not only a completely new offense, but also a complex NFL one, for being 113th in the nation in scoring, especially when looking at the teams we faced. Admittedly our struggles have come freak incidents, that for some reason affected the whole complexion of the game, but how many times does something have to happen before it stops being a coincidence. In fact, if we don't move up at least 15 spots in all categories in these next three games, UNC, FIU, and Duke, then I will be calling for not only the firing of coach Larry Coker, I will be advocating the benching of Kyle Wright, see if this Kirby kid isn't any better.

Back to North Carolina though. As bad as North Carolina has done thus far offensively, it's about to get a whole lot worse. Once again the defense will come in and totally dominate the ball and give the offense multiple opportunities to blow the Tar Heels out of the water. The Houston game almost ended in tragedy, again because of a turnover on the drive following an impressive scoring drive, similar to Louisville. If that happens again, and Miami can't put up at least 21 points on UNC before half time, I would be surprised to see a two back set, utilizing the talents of James, and the power of Jones. Once again, Miami's offense will focus on running the ball to try and establish a play action playbook including Lance Legget and the speedy youngster Sam Shields.

If this game is close, feel free to spam the hell out of this site, my final prediction:

Miami-52
UNC-3
