It's official now, Mark Whipple is the University of Miami's new offensive coordinator. Exciting news, when you consider what he's done throughout his career. Most encouraging is the high praise from past employeers and players coached attesting not only to his ability as a coach, but as a leader and teacher of young men, similar to the praise lauded upon Coach Shanon himself. |

University of Miami Athletic Director Paul Dee has officially announced his intention to step down from his position. He won't be going far as he also included in his statement a desire to teach law at Miami. "I have always wanted to teach," Dee said Wednesday. "This way, I can transition to the faculty and teach at the university for a few years before I retire." |

Brian Pata is still being cheered at the University of Miami, but this time it's not on the football field. In a show of honor and respect for the fallen Hurricanes Donna E. Shalala presented Pata's parents with a posthumous degree. Pata, a criminology major, was fatally shot outside his apartment more than six months ago on Nov. 7th.
